Rangers

An Evangelical Church

Higher Bebington Ranger Unit started in 2007. We meet on Monday evenings in term time, roughly fortnightly, and our main aim is to    HAVE FUN!

Rangers is for young women aged 14 - 25 who want to carry on with Guiding after they are 14+. Several of the group also help with local Rainbow, Brownie and Guide units, working towards their Young Leader certificates.

The programme is loosely based around eight areas called ‘octants’, which include the creative arts, community service, health, sport, outdoor activities (including camping) and the development of personal skills in leadership and independent living. The choices within these octants are mainly up to the girls themselves.

We have enjoyed outdoor cooking, indoor team sports, jewellery-making, pot-painting, learning self-defence, a Scottish evening (complete with haggis and a highland fiddle), a Chinese evening, pioneering activities, shelter building and  fire-lighting in Eastham Country Park, cooking, bowling, quizzes, a Pampering Pyjama Party, learning about homelessness, bag-packing at Tesco to raise funds and       carol-singing for the RNLI, .......... and much, much more!!

The possibilities are endless and limited only by resources and the imagination of the girls.

If you are interested in joining us, please e-mail Charlotte at - rangers@grangeurc.org.uk

We'd love to see you.

As well as all this, we like going away on camps or holidays together, planning our meals and activities, enjoying the outdoor life and HAVING FUN!
