Grange URC saw the grand opening of its new youth room (THE HUB) on Saturday 19th June 2010. It was named ‘The Hub’ as it was felt that the room will be a place of activity and interest for the youth of the church with Christ at its centre.

The room was formally opened by the Revd Richard Landon (Minister) to a gathering of youth group members and parents. All were keen to see how the room had been transformed from a drab, dreary store-room into a colourful bright ‘chill-out’ zone. They were amazed at the difference. Pictures below show the room before transformation.......

Aimed at relaxation the room has comforts of home, a breakfast bar, fridge, TV and hi-fi plus a Wii games console. The cost of decoration, new flooring and purchase of the furnishings etc was met with help from Local Authority Grants (Your Wirral and Funds For You) totalling £4,590. Indeed, we currently feature on the Your Wirral website. In addition we had help from Wayne at Palmer Developments for the room decoration, Liscard Carpets for the flooring and Prestiege Blinds for the drop down coloured blinds in the room. Not least the support from our own members at church who generously offered support and gave us the use of the room in the first place. Grateful thanks to all.

The design for the room came from Charlotte Luke and Elaine Jordan (two of the leaders) along with help and input from the youth group members. Some of their artwork can be found in the room.

Below are pictures from the opening night. At the moment the youth group meet once a month but the room now means more frequent meetings can be held. In addition the room can be opened up for use by other youth organisations that meet at the church.
