Welcome to 5th Bebington Brownies!
We are part of Girlguiding UK and aged between 7 and 10 years old. Being a Brownie is all about fun,
friendship and fabulous opportunities!
We meet on Thursday evenings at Grange with our leaders Brown Owl,
Barney, Snowy & Jay. We also have 2 Young Leaders, Raven & Kestrel,
who help us too.
We are divided into small groups – called sixes – and they are the
Leprechauns, Ghillie Dhus, Gnomes and Scottish Kelpies. We also have
the Hedgehog six who are our older Brownies who are almost ready to
move onto Guides.
Our Brownie Adventure is based on three areas – You, Community and World, and the activities we take part in help us to
develop our understanding of these areas. Our weekly meetings are a mix of games, crafts, group activities, challenges,
badge work, competitions, indoor activities and outdoor activities, and we also join with other units in the local
rea regularly for themed fun-days and other BIG events.
We also have an annual Brownie Holiday – over the last 12 years we’ve been as far away as Lancaster,
as close as Willaston and lots of places in between! Our holidays always a have a theme and as well as games,
crafts and other challenges, we really enjoy learning to look after ourselves and working together to prepare meals
and keep the holiday house tidy.
At the centre of everything we do is our Brownie Promise. We make our Promise when we join Brownies, and then we become part of a worldwide family of Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers.
Our Brownie Promise is:

To be true to myself and to develop my beliefs
To serve the Queen and my community
To help other people
And to keep the Brownie Guide Law.
And the Brownie Guide Law is:
A Brownie Guidethinks of others before herself and does a good turn very day.
