5th Bebington Rainbows meets each Monday in term time between 6pm and 7pm in Grange United Reformed Church hall, Higher Bebington. We are a happy and active group of about 18 – 20 girls aged 5 – 7 and have continued to thrive since opening in June 2006. Rainbows represents the youngest section of Girlguiding and we hope it is the start of their life-long Guiding adventure.

The Rainbows follow the new Guiding programme which is common to all the Guiding age-groups and is based round the themes of Creativity, Outdoor Adventure, Skills for the Future, Community Action plus Health and Wellbeing.  With these in mind, we enjoy a wide range of crafts, games, activities, badges and singing. In addition, trips out are always fun – exploring Storeton Woods, learning about animals at Pets at Home, fruit-picking at a local farm - and visitors such as a guide-dog puppy, the ‘owl man’ or a lady to teach us Scottish Dancing, always have the girls mesmerised and entertained.

We also encourage the girls to think about people in the local community and around the world, and, as a unit we have been involved in projects such as the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal, Children-in-Need, (Pudsey) and Comic Relief (Red Nose Day).

As well as our own Monday activities, we also take part in local District Fun days and Division events with other local Rainbow, Brownie, Guide and Ranger units in the area such as our annual trip to the Pantomime, events at the County campsite in Willaston and the Thinking Day celebrations each February.

5th Bebington Rainbows are a happy bunch, with lots of smiles and laughter  ……… a good time is had by all.
